Our Work
Since our launch in 2022, the Great Falls Fire Rescue Foundation has been working to fund programs to advance Great Falls Fire Rescue's goals of protecting lives and property through response, education and prevention.
Our accomplishments

tech rescue gear $7177.30
The Foundation was able to provide equipment and gear to support GFFR's Tech Rescue capabilities. Tech Rescue involves skills and equipment to support high-risk situations such as confined space rescue, rope rescue, trench rescue, structural collapse rescue, ice and water rescue.

SCBA Washer $33,394.94
To reduce GFFR Firefighters' exposures to combustion gases, soot particles and dangerous carcinogens from their Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), The Foundation was able to provide GFFR with a heavy duty washing machine offering an efficient, effective and safe way to decontaminate their PPE equipment.

(6) Thermal Imagers $47,634.00
GFFR's previous thermal imagers no longer had warranties and were continuously out of service for repair. The units were outdated and unreliable. The Foundation was able to replace all front line units with with new imagers and batteries that meet NFPA 1801 requirements.

(4) Ice Rescue Suits $2,860.60
Part of GFFR's response includes Ice Rescue, a specialized type of rescue that focuses on the retrieval of individuals who have fallen through the ice, into cold water. The Foundation was able to replaced GFFR's worn, leaking suits and enhance the safety of GFFR's personnel performing ice rescue operations.

Deck-Over Tilt trailer $10,950.00
The Foundation was able to provide equipment and gear to support GFFR's Tech Rescue capabilities. Tech Rescue involves skills and equipment to support high-risk situations such as confined space rescue, rope rescue, trench rescue, structural collapse rescue, ice and water rescue.

Fire Prevention Education
Due to the limited funds available for education, the Foundation has received donations designated to Fire Prevention Education. Those funds have gone to education materials aimed at preschool and elementary aged children and adults over 60. Since 2023, the Foundation has purchased nearly $4,000.00 in education supplies for Fire Prevention.

Peer Support Team - Spouses Seminar
GFFR's Peer Support Team has provided education for the spouses of GFFR members resources, guidance and information regarding mental wellness and support with managing of the stressors their firefighters deal with. The Foundation has supported these seminars by designating funds to assist with the costs associated with them.
